Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-20
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to burnsmax.ca, play.burnsmax.ca, and all games, applications, online features and services published or operated under the Burnsmax name, including Astra Forge, unless a specific service clearly provides a separate privacy notice.
Burnsmax is an independent project. This policy explains what information Burnsmax may receive, why it is used, where Burnsmax stores it, and how you can request access, correction or deletion.
2. Information Burnsmax may collect
Account and authentication information
Depending on the game or platform, Burnsmax may store an internal account identifier, username or display name, email address when one is provided or returned by an authentication provider, linked-provider identifiers, language and account preferences, account creation and login timestamps, and security/session information.
Game and online-service data
To provide online features, Burnsmax may store game progression, experience and levels, inventory, virtual currencies, artifacts or items, cosmetics, quests, achievements, settings, entitlements, leaderboards, match or run results, scores, gameplay statistics, multiplayer/session information and other data required to restore or synchronize your account.
Technical and security data
Burnsmax may process technical information that is reasonably necessary to operate and secure its services, such as IP address, device or operating-system information, app/game version, authentication events, timestamps, server logs, crash/error information and anti-abuse or run-verification data.
Support requests
If you contact support, Burnsmax may store the information you submit, such as your name or nickname, email address, game, platform, subject, message, technical context, IP address and browser/user-agent information. This information is used to answer your request and protect the support system against abuse.
If you choose to sign in to the Burnsmax support portal with Apple, Google or Discord, your support request may be linked to your Burnsmax player account. This lets authorized Burnsmax support view relevant account information already stored on Burnsmax servers, such as linked sign-in providers, progression, entitlements, purchase-validation records and recent game activity when reasonably necessary to investigate your request. The support portal does not receive your third-party password, and Burnsmax does not need you to resend information it already holds for the linked account.
3. Sign in with Apple, Google and Discord
Some Burnsmax services let you sign in or link an account using third-party identity providers. Burnsmax never receives your Apple, Google or Discord password. Depending on the provider, the permissions you approve and the information made available by that provider, Burnsmax may receive a provider-specific account ID and limited profile information such as an email address, display name or avatar.
Information that is processed directly by those companies is handled under their own systems, terms and privacy policies. Their processing is separate from the data Burnsmax stores on its own servers:
- Apple: Apple Privacy Policy
- Google: Google Privacy Policy
- Discord: Discord Privacy Policy
Deleting a Burnsmax account does not automatically delete an Apple, Google or Discord account, nor information those providers are required or permitted to keep under their own policies.
4. Why Burnsmax uses this information
- create, authenticate and protect player accounts;
- save and synchronize progression and entitlements;
- operate online gameplay, co-op, leaderboards, quests and live features;
- validate game runs, purchases and server-side rewards;
- prevent fraud, abuse, cheating and unauthorized access;
- diagnose bugs, crashes and service problems;
- answer support and privacy requests;
- meet legal, accounting or security obligations when applicable.
5. Where Burnsmax stores data
Information that Burnsmax stores itself is kept on servers and databases operated for Burnsmax. The goal is to keep player and service data under direct Burnsmax control rather than selling it or building advertising profiles from it.
Some information must still be processed by third parties when you choose or use their service. Examples include Apple, Google or Discord authentication, a storefront/payment provider, email delivery, or anti-bot/security services. Those providers are responsible for the information they process within their own systems.
6. Payments and in-game purchases
Games may offer optional purchases such as virtual currency, items, permanent unlocks, subscriptions or other digital content. These purchases help pay for hosting, online infrastructure, maintenance and continued development, and they directly support the independent work behind Burnsmax and its games.
When a purchase is made through a platform such as the Apple App Store, the platform processes the payment. Burnsmax does not receive or store your full payment-card number. Burnsmax may receive transaction or receipt information, product identifiers, purchase status and entitlement information needed to validate the purchase and grant the corresponding content.
Refunds, billing disputes and subscription management are generally handled by the storefront or payment provider through which the purchase was made, subject to that provider's rules and applicable consumer rights.
7. Sharing and sale of personal information
Burnsmax does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be disclosed only when reasonably necessary to provide a service you chose, process a purchase, protect the services, comply with a valid legal obligation, or respond to a security incident.
8. Cookies and local preferences
Burnsmax websites may use small cookies or equivalent local storage for essential functions such as language preference, session security, authentication state and anti-abuse protection. These are used to make the service work and are not intended to create third-party advertising profiles.
The support form may use Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce automated spam. Technical information processed by Cloudflare is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy practices.
9. Data retention
Account and game data may be kept while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, secure the platform, resolve disputes, validate purchases, prevent fraud or satisfy legal/accounting requirements. Support requests may be retained for the time reasonably needed to resolve and document the request.
When a valid deletion request is completed, Burnsmax deletes or anonymizes data that is no longer required, subject to technical backups, fraud-prevention records and information that must be retained for legitimate legal or accounting reasons.
10. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask Burnsmax to access, correct or delete personal information associated with your account. You can use the Account & Data Deletion page or submit a privacy request through support.
Burnsmax may need to verify that you control the account or email address before disclosing or deleting account information.
11. Children and family accounts
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information to Burnsmax in a way that should be reviewed or removed, they can contact support. Burnsmax will review the request and take appropriate steps based on the account, service and applicable requirements.
12. Security
Burnsmax uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect accounts and stored information. No online system can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect their own device, email account and linked third-party accounts.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Burnsmax adds games, platforms or online features. The latest version published on burnsmax.ca is the version that applies, unless a service specifically states otherwise.
Screenshots and other images attached to a ticket are kept while it is being handled. When a ticket is marked Resolved or Closed, deletion is scheduled 7 days later. The image content is then removed from storage, while the ticket and its text conversation may be retained for support follow-up.
